POSITION:                    Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

PROGRAM AREA:       Medical Department

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Provide nursing care to adults with developmental disabilities.

LPN/RN Job duties include:

• Ability to communicate in an effective professional manner, with various types of people, regardless of their age, background, skills, and abilities.
• Demonstrate the ability to think critically and react to situations based on urgency of the individual’s needs.
• Demonstrate the ability to appropriately delegate physician orders to staff at Northern Hills Training Center.
• Communicate with health care providers as needed.
• Communicate with members of the interdisciplinary team regarding the health care needs of the individuals NHTC supports.
• Demonstrate accurate and timely documentation.
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current South Dakota nursing license
• Computer knowledge and skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Must be well organized and able to work with minimal supervision.

HOURS:         Monday-Friday days with rotating on call in evenings and weekends
