Residential ServicesNHTC provides residential supports to 80 people living in 23 separate residential locations in Spearfish, Sturgis, and Belle Fourche. There are three levels of support we offer:
In Spearfish we have the following locations available for all three levels of support.
1620 Ryan Road
The Ryan Road apartments offer people a chance to live in their own apartment and do all of the activities necessary, like cooking and cleaning, shopping, paying bills, etc. The advantage of the Ryan Road apartments is that staff are present in the building during all waking hours, helping people learn to do the tasks that they haven't mastered yet.
525 King Street
525 King is actually three apartments in one building. The apartment residents collectively rent from a landlord who lives out of town. People share all of the household tasks and staff help out wherever necessary.
1005 Canyon
1005 Canyon is a 4 bedroom home where people have their own private bedroom and share a kichen and living room. Staff assist with all of the activities of living in the home.
1015 Canyon
1015 Canyon is home to 8 people, and also provides a retirement program during the weekdays. An additional apartment downstairs provides a safe home for a person that doesn't need as much help during the course of daily living.
728 Hill Street
728 Hill Street provides a supportive home for 11 people with profound mental and physical disabilities. Multiple staff work 24 hours per day, 365 days each year, helping these people live a life as involved in the community as possible.
The upstairs appartments are home to six people. These people are actively doing activities for daily living in a supervised setting.
815 34th Street
815 34th Street is an extremely accessible home for the 7 people who live there. Staff help people with activities of daily living 24 hours each day.
Hickory House at Colorado
The Hickory House is part of a large apartment complex on 10th Street in Spearfish. This apartment complex, and others like it, provide homes for the majority of the people who receive residential supports from NHTC. Generally, staff help people living in these setting on a less-than-fulltime basis, and only for those activities of community living that the person needs help with.
