Northern Hills Training Center strives to network with the community through a variety of opportunities. It is the goal of the Office of Public Relations to bring to the community greater awareness of the mission and goals of Northern Hills Training Center. Some of those outreach activities include:

Fundraising opportunities, such as:
- Annual Community Chili Feed
- Annual Texas Hold’Em Poker Tournament
- Downtown Business Assoc. Harvest Fest Booth
Quarterly “New Directions” Newsletter
Tours and open houses events
Speaking engagements with community organizations
Partners in Activities and Leisure ((PAL) Program:
- 1:1 volunteer activity pairing people supported through NHTC with people interested in forming a friendship that would lead to involvement in recreational, leisure and community activities
- Goal of forming long-term personal relationships and supporting people with developmental disabilities to develop social networks
