2010 STAFF SATISFACTION SURVEY
The results for the 2010 Staff Satisfaction Survey are complete and results can be viewed in the link below. Please note that the results are in raw format meaning no analysis has been included. A full analysis will be posted in the coming month. Thank you to all staff who participated in the survey. The information gathered from this survey is crucial to maintaining our high standard of services and supports.

Congratulations Special Olympians
NHTC was well represented at recent Special Olympic events.
Kaylene Rost and Robby Asheim traveled to Huron, SD to p articipate in the State Equestrian Competition. Kaylene competed in the Bridge, Poles and Halter Showmanship, earning one gold and two bronze medals. Robby earned two gold and one bronze while competing in the Bridge, Track and Poles.
Ammee Schwender, Carla West and Marla West traveled to Lincoln, NE for the National Special Olympic Meet. Ammee competed in the track ev ents of 100M run, 4 x 100M relay, running long jump and 200M run. She brought home 4 medals for her efforts.
Carla and Marla participated in bowling events. Carla earned medals in Doubles, Team Bowling and Singles. Marla brought home medals from Mixed Team Bowling, Singles and Doubles.
NHTC Hiking Club
The NHTC Hiking Club invites you to explore the wonders of the Black Hills. The hikes vary in difficulty but allow for a broad range of participation. All hikes start at 9am at the NHTC parking lot. For more information, contact Josh McDonald at 605-920-8890.
Here are the scheduled hikes:
Saturday, August 14 Rimrock Trail Hike 3.5 miles 3 hours
Saturday, August 21 Devil's Tower Hike 1.25 miles 2 hours
Remember: water bottle, sunscreen, hiking or walking shoes, insect repellent, binoculars, camera, hat, hiking stick
Treasure Island Summer Hours
Beginning Saturday, June 5, summer hours at Treasure Isl and Thrift Store will be as follows:
Monday-Friday 8:00a.m.-4:00 p.m. and Saturday 9:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
Treasure Island is located at 714 N. 5th Street in Spearfish and can be reached at treasureisland@nhtc.org.

Congratulations to our June Blue Diamond Award Winner.
Josh McDonald, Direct Support Professional at Hill Street Supervised is the June Blue Diamond Award Winner. Josh coordinates the NHTC Hiking Club. (see the hikes listed above).
Nominees included: Nick Hartford, DSP; Ashley Shevling, DSP; Nancy Feldman, DSP; Community Supervised staff.
Congratulations to all nominees!
Blue Diamond winners are selected during the monthly open management meetings. The nominations are based on outstanding stories about DSP's and supervisors. The stories can be about activities done after hours, positive representation of NHTC, special attention given to people supported by the agency, or attitude towards work. Staff and management present at the meeting, vote on the most positive story shared.
